Retreat 7th-9th 2015 at Namirembe guest house.
Proclaim-Africa
organized a retreat for the staff team for two days. We had a good time where a
lot of ministry opportunities and financial status of the organization were
discussed. Proclaim-Africa continues to grow and as it grows more effort is
needed.
We had representatives
from East, North, Central region, West and Southern Uganda.
Two things that stood out for us most ;

Emphasis on families
·
Mobile theological
trainings in Uganda.
When a family embraces
what which is good, then the nation has good citizens and good political
atmosphere leadership hence good governance; where there is no corruption and
political fights.
Similar thing with
trained church believers; believers become apologetic for true faith against syncretism
which goes on to ruin our societies.
Please pray for these
two core objectives of Proclaim-Africa. I and Simon we want to thank for your
passionate about following us up, your prayers and financial support. We could
hardly live without that. Thank you and may the Lord continue using you.
2 Timothy 2:2 “The things which you
have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful
men who will be able to teach others also”.
Bible gifts to the people of Rakai District on 4th-5th July 2015
This is one of the
districts in Uganda close to Lake Victoria at the extreme south eastern part.
This area has many groups of people: a cross East Africa (this contributes to
diversity of languages spoken here). Narrowing down divergence of this area,
our mission was to visit two local churches. We gave out bibles to Kakoma
church believers and some other
fellowship groups books. The number was overwhelming as you will see in the
photos. We had many children yet materials for children were very few, although
some at least go something.
We want to thank those that donated the funds for their love and great zeal to support this church by donating
to them a lot of money which we used to bible these bibles. A few people in
some of the areas off Kampala may not be able to afford to buy good translated
bibles. So, thank you for thinking about these people in Rakai. May the Lord bless
you.
There is a great hunger
for more bibles, we could not meet the capacity; nevertheless we trust the LORD
that He will provide and we go back again. When believers don’t read the bible
and pray through it, there is no way you can ever expect revival in that
society. So having such an opportunity from Uncle Dean and Madam we cannot take
that for granted. The Word of God stimulates the faith of believers.
We had missioners from
Tanzania who had come to minister at Kakoma
church. We had a real African praise for some of you who have ever been to
a village African church, where prayer is not limited by time. Here in Kampala
Sunday services are always limited by time unlike in the village. We started at
9:00 Am and finished at 3:00Pm. Dr. Lazarus preached (we had two preachers, one
from Tanzania and Dr. Lazarus). I, Simon and Marthar we worked on giving out
the bibles and registering their names.
At 4:00Pm we had to go
to the Mityebire church where we were in the previous mission to meet the group
of believers who had received Jesus and some who had re-committed themselves to
Jesus; to strengthen them. However there was miss-communication after they had
waited us for a long time and we could not meet them. But we were able to meet
a few individuals on personal contact. We prayed with them and read scripture
together: Mrs. Lois ministered to children in the village and she is greatly
gifted in the children and also in married couples. She encourages lots of
couples.
I thank God for Isha;
formally a Muslim girl who gave her life to Jesus. She received the bible and
she affirms that she is now part of the body of the church and reads her bible
as well.

Please pray for this
girl and the Mityebire church. This church has controversial eldership
committee which hinders its progress systematically.

Pray that God will
provide so that we go back this time with more bibles to meet this need.

June - Men of Honour Breakfast
We want to thank all the people who stood with us in prayer
concerning the Men Of Honor Breakfast
20th June 2015. We had a good turn out though it rained heavily that
morning (Rain in the tropics is not predictable): Kampala is so venerable to drastic climatic changes
that at times it is unpredictable. fifty two people came (52). This time
around; married couples were invited to come together with their wives, this
was done because the topic we were dealing with involved both man and wife to
be present unlike in our past meetings. The speaker dealt well with the topic “Raising
A Godly Heritage”, Many couples appreciated this.
1.
The speaker (Eng. Isac Kasana) encouraged parents to love their
children and emphasized that children loving their parents does not necessarily
mean presence of all things but also when you are poor you can still love your
children.
2.
Family is so important to the church structure and its growth
therefore it must be administered with wisdom and with God’s leading through
prayer.
3.
Parents should learn and avoid dividing their children and work
towards unity in the family. In conclusion he encouraged parents to live a life
that mirror Christ that will in turn demonstrate the kind of life their
children should live.
As an organization (Proclaim-Africa), we think this is a good
strategy since good families leads to a health church and nation. If you have
been following our blog, you remember the couples’ retreat we had, many parents
were touched and a lot of testimonies shared. So, this is a good trend that
Proclaim-Africa is taking.
Simon and I continue to learn a lot as the Lord leads us to
minister and go along the people who have been in ministry from time of their
childhood. It is such a joy to be around people who honour God both in words
and actions (people whose life is Christ drenched). It’s a joy and we want to
praise the Lord for that.
Despite of the fact that we have been trained theologically and
we can handle the Word with great care and diligence in preaching and teaching;
we have learnt that ministry of the Word is full of challenges thus it calls
for a mind that focuses of God the sustainer and perfector of our faith.
Very soon we will start Romans Project Conferences in Gulu,
Lira, Fort portal and Kitugumu. These conferences needs a lot of preparations,
there are a lot of details involved if they are to take place. Please pray for us that God will bring His
own to hear His word.

MINISTRY UPDATE - APRIL & MAY 2015
On the 5th to 9th May Proclaim-Africa hosted the Pastors couple conference at Rest gardens Bweyogerere. In this conference even though some of the staff were not married we had to be there because we are the organizers and making sure that the conference goes on well. However some of the topics that were tackled had much in helping us who are looking to marriage in the future.
Some of the topics that were preached included Pastoring Couples with managing their finances, Glorifying God in marriages, facing Adversity in life and ministry, Devotions on Titus each morning, Praying couples, Glorifying God in our ministry partnership, Glorifying God in our families.
This conference was attended by 96 Pastors and their wives who came from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. During this time we were able to hear testimonies like Joan from Jinja who had attended a conference in 2013 where by during that time her marriage was on the rocks, she could not forgive her husband and felt in some ways that there was no love between the two of them and yet this was spilling over to some of the believers in the church. After the 2013 conference she went back home and put into practice some of what she was taught during the times of teaching. Even though she did not manage to bring husband to this years conference, after a complete change and healing in her marriage, her husband promised to support her financially to attend the annual conference that we organize.
The other testimony was that of Ann Katungwensi, who has learnt how to minister to girls in Bishop Balaam university in Kabale Western Uganda and Angela Musasizi (wife to Canon Musasizi) in Mityana who has been encouraged in many ways by these conferences on how to serve with her husband
- it is common in Africa to find pastors who are doing counseling without their wives simply because their wives do not know that they have to be part, a good number of pastors also are not in a holy matrimony and some have more than one wife. Some pastors are simply care free to their wives and in such cases their wives even go to a different church. Such cases and more like these are very common. These are some of the reasons why Proclaim-Africa hold such conferences once a year to help the church ministering family in Africa to overcome such problems by the authority of the Scriptures.
One person wrote “Change Uganda from your village”. both Alex and I find this applicable and meaningful. Our government can’t change unless our villages, families, husbands and wives are changed by the Gospel. Please continue to Pray for this great initiative and ministry we are involved in. Pray that God will touch and change families Himself.
ALEX AND SIMON NEWS LETTER FOR MARCH:
Men of Honor is a ministry of Proclaim-Africa to men making sure that Men take up their place in homes with a Biblical perspective. In this we hold breakfast meetings and fellowship, then follow up for men where men get to interact because proclaim-Africa discovered that iron sharpens iron.
28th-03-2015: MEN OF HONOR breakfast
We thank the Lord for His provision that has enabled us serveHim in Proclaim-Africa.
At one of our Men of honor breakfast meeting where we had the former minister of finance speak
(Dr. Ezra Suruma) one of the fathers union chairman at all saints gave a testimony how he made a decision on the cross road when he was deciding whether to go to another meeting or join ours,
after him making a decision to come to our meeting he left thanking God because at that meeting he was able to get a speaker for their men’s meeting which was going to be held in a week’s time and he also expressed how he was inspired by the speaker of the day.
Testimonies like these keep us moving asurance that God called us to serve him and His people are being impacted.
In the men’s breakfast that we have just held we had ProfessorAugustus Niwagaba addressed the Topic on “THE CHRISTIAN ENTERPRNUER” and had the Managing Director of Malaysian furniture in Uganda give us a testimony about how he does business as a Pastor, Missionary, grandfather and husband.
We are so grateful to the Lord for the people who attended. We had very influential people from the government, the chief justice, Col. Bamanya, Pastors and Reverends from Anglican Church.
Very early in the morning there was some little beat of rain and this greatly worried us. The rain really interrupts most of the occasions here. Nevertheless later the rain stopped, making it clear for most people to come. We had over 50 people all in total who attended.
YOUNG WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE
On the 27 February 2015, Proclaim-Africa launched a new ministry called ‘’Young Women of
Excellence” this was kick started with a seminar that we invited great/senior women to inspire these
young women and among these was the wife of the former prime minister
Apollo Insibambi (Mrs. Ester Nsibambi), head of Department for Mass communication UCU (Dr.
Monica Chibita) and Mrs Anita Nshakira and the topic was the “ISSUES PERTAINING THE YOUNG
WOMEN”
January 2015 Staff Retreat
On 27-30th January 2015 we had a staff retreat on Entebbe road where most of the staff members had to discuss how ministry is going in their regions. We had staff members from all regions such as mid-Western Region, Southern Region, and Eastern Region. So far we have not yet got a representative in Northern Region.
This retreat was prepared by Dr. Lazarus and his Wife Mrs. Lois.
It was such a momentum time to pray and fast together as we presented different ministries to God.
The key guiding scriptures were Isaiah 26:12 and Philippians 1:27-30.
Simon had presentation too on MEDIA, MINISTRY WITH UNIVERSITIES and PICK AND READ PROJECT. Pick and read projects seeks to answer different questions asked in the field with a clear biblical truth.
It was a great time. We had many testimonies and a lot of people who got saved. We really gave honor to the Lord God almighty. Dr. shared with us his ministry plans for this year especially preaching Seminars.
