SIMON TUMUKWASIBWE - UPDATES FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER

We began the month of October with a long list of activities and with lots of hope as an organization of proclaim-Africa. Two months ago we had seen great success of the MEN OF HONOR BREAFAST, therefore now we have been having a series of follow up meetings looking for ways on how to make this ministry reach to the grass-`root of all our members.Basically on the number of meetings we have had as a committee we have resolved to start home cells for MEN and to achieve this we are in process of producing materials for the Cell leaders.

As the month of October kicked in, as the media coordinator of the organization i was working hand in hand with the INDEPTH BIBLE PROGRAME PARTELY  ROMANS PROJECT to prepare for the ground breaking conference (Vision casting conference) in the Northern Uganda (Gulu Town) Here is are the statistician details.

I have been writing and posting reports on the Social media and the organization Web site, getting all our audience updated with most of the organization activities.

On the 31st of this month we got an opportunity to preach the Gospel at the Vision for AfricaMukono which is like an hour Drive from where we stay. We were so encouraged greatly with the response of the sermon after Alex leaving the pulpit, and after sharing our Testimony I also led the church into a time of prayer and intersection the Key passage was Lam3:1-23 “Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness. Surely my soul remembers And is bowed down within me.This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.​The LORD's loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

 

In this month also I was given the task of typing the materials for our youth fellowship which is part of our Director’s Ministry and I like the experience and I can’t wait to see the whole work done.

 

 

 

ALEX TUMUWEISGYE - UPDATE OF MINISTRY FROM OCTOBER-NOVEMBER, 2014:

I want to thank God very much for the great work that He has allowed me to; especially bringing the gospel to the people in our nation Uganda through ROMANS PROJECT INTERNATIONAL and PROCLAIM-AFRICA.  It is my joy and enthusiasm that I see the gospel penetrating remote areas in our society by the grace of God. 

Last month on 27th/10/2014, together with a team of three people from Proclaim-Africa, I and Simon we left with them for Gulu district in Northern Uganda to have a vision casting conference for ROMNAS PROJECT INTERNATIONAL. We met 122 church leaders /pastors from this region. At the end of the conference we had 86 people who assigned or committed to ROMANS PROJECT.  

On 21st/10/2014 I was invited to preach at Vision For Africa in Mukonodistrict. It was such a thrilling moment, seeing passionate people for the Word of God. People responded to the sermon and some gave testimony how God had spoken to them through the Word; I was putting moreemphasis (Isaiah 37:1-22). Thanks to the Graingers for their prayers, indeed God had your prayers which you prayed for me and I spoke with boldness without fear =) I was challenging the congregation to live a prayerful life in light of reading the Word and practicing it. 

Right now I am compiling names for those who committed to ROMANS PROJECT reading. Secondary I have also to make a follow-up (calling people) to see how far they have gone especially those that committedmuch more earlier so that we can organize for a graduation, where Alan gives them MP3s if they have finished all the requirements. 

Thirdly, I am on the committee for MEN OF HONOR ministry in PROCLAIM-AFRICA. I have to write minutes on weekly basis and update the committee members on due events. This ministry pursues to see Christian families raising God fearing children in our nation. Through this ministry, Dr. Lazarus has been invited in churches to speak on marriage and on some occasions I have been with him. Sharing my testimony how I and Simon we have grown without a family and the love that God has showed us through such circumstances. 

• Please continue to pray for me, so that I will effectively serve the Lord. 

• Pray for me that I will reach out to God’s people with the gospel of grace.

VISION CASTING CONFERENCE IN GULU NORTHERN UGANDA 28th October:

The team that comprised of Simon, Alex, Alan, Dr.Lazarus and Mrs.Lois left on the 27^th of October early in the morning and we reached there in the afternoon just enough time to get every thing ready for the conference the next day. The journey took about 7 hours of Drive on the Bus.

Gulu now has a new look and the District is so promising in terms of the growth of the gospel. The people are welcoming and generally there is a blowing wind of transformation in the streets of the town. On the other hand however we were able to meet some of the old students from the college and seminary. 

We got a great attendance of the conference and over 122 church leaders coming from the District of Gulu. The conference started well and the attendants were given orientations about PROCLAIM-AFRICA ministries and Great interest was shown in the In depth bible programs and 86 people signed up for the Romans project, the congregation comprised of church leaders from all evangelical background in the area.

ROMANS PROJECT - MAY CONFERENCE UPDATES

ROMANS PROJECT CONFERENCES MAY 22nd -29th MAY

This report seeks to give comprehensive information about the Romans Project conferences that were held in Kampala 22^nd, Masindi 27^th and Hoima on the 29^th May 2014. Romans Projects as an in-depth bible study ministry is a ministry of Proclaim-Africa under special projects department.

This ministry has been running along-side the umbrella of Romans Project international. Proclaim-Africa took on its coordination in Uganda since September 2011. This ministry has so far reached church leaders in Central region, South western, Mid-Western and Eastern parts of Uganda.

This ministry has greatly brought positive changes to many churches in Uganda. Sermons of the rural church leaders have changed, the desire to read God’s word has been growing steadily, the project has been great catalyst to unity among leaders of different churches of different Denominations like Pentecostals, Baptists, Anglicans, orthodox and Methodists.

Every one that has gone through this program has been rewarded with a certificate and an MP3 which has over 800 audio sermons ready for the Participant to listen. This program has been specifically limited to only 4 church leaders from each church and part of the Proclaim-Africa staff.

 

ROMANS PROJECT CONFERENCE KAMPALA NAMIREMBE GUEST HOUSE 22nd MAY 2014

In this conference one would say that all our speakers were from our own organization and among these were Dr. Lazarus Seruyange, Mr. Allan Koki, The regional Coordinator and Mr. Sebagala Methusella.  In all these talks the church leaders were challenged to do expository teaching, reading of the bible extensively and giving more time in the preparation of their sermons. The aspect of unity and love of the people that they were called to serve was also put to emphasis. Dr. Lazarus charged the church leaders to read the text and prepare their sermons with context and called them to be the first people to experience the power of the sermon before the congregation gets to hear it.

This Conference was attended by 93 church leaders and 65 committed themselves to the Romans Project ( reading the book 20 times, hand write it, take lessons from it and preach sermons from it) it is important to acknowledge that among this congregation we had representatives from the Anglican church, Pentecostals and Baptists.

 

ROMANS PROJECT CONFERENCE MASINDI 27^TH MAY 2014.

With the Team that we took to Masindi was the Roman Project Coordinator in Uganda Mr. Allan Koki and the Proclaim Africa Staff and coordinator in the Oil Region Mr. Bazale Amos and His wife Perry Bazale. The speakers were Mr. Allan and Amos Bazale. Here most of the conference activities like the MC of the conference was done by the locals themselves.  At the conference we were welcomed by the Diocesan secretary Masindi Diocece and among other dignitaries in the Anglican Church.

In this conference the attendants were introduced to Romans Project and challenged to respond to this project positively. When Mr. Allan had finished speaking all the church leaders were convinced that being faithful to the reading and preaching of the scriptures is the way to go in this region. This being a strong hold of cultic leaders called Owobusobozi, some church leaders confessed that in-depth Bible reading and study would be an ant-dote for such vulnerable region. Among the talks that were preached was Bible expository, Preaching, Sermon Preparation and others.

There was such an overwhelming turn up of the church leaders that took the number to 134 and among these were representing different Denominations like it was in Kampala conference. Over 80 people of the attendants sign up to take on the task of currying the burner of Romans project in their ministry.

 

ROMANS PROJECT HOIMA KOLPING HOTEL 29TH MAY 2014:

After a great experience in Masindi it was time to trek to the well known city of oil. This was the second Romans Project conference in this town. Our team reached a day before the conference day so that there could be time to pray, and prepare the speakers for the conference. On the 28^th it was the day for the check outs for those that has enrolled in our previous conference in April 2014.

There was a huge turn up compared to the pas conference that we had had in the same town. The conference hall was filled to capacity, 111 church leaders from different denominations came and by the time our speakers were done speaking and challenging them to embrace the Program in their ministry, over 90 people sign up the forms to read Romans 20 times hand write it and preach from it.

We curried on with the same talks in all these conferences including Hoima and the intensity of these talks could be easily witnessed from the questions they asked and the concentrations and the testimonies that they gave (the graduates) see below.

Among the 15 graduates three were given an opportunity to give a testimony of each of their experiences and these were their words.

“I had never read a book in the Bible 20 times but Romans project has just taught me how” 

“my sermons and memorizing of the scriptures have changed since I conquered my fears to sign up to do this great task of Romans Project”

“ I am going to do the same with other books since I have finished this book with such great benefits”

COMMENDATION:

• It is therefore this point that we give great thanks to our Partners Romans Project international through our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank and appreciate our regional coordinators for such great work of mobilization.
• Great thanks to our very own speakers that spoke in all these conferences, Dr. Lazarus seruyange, Mr. Allan Koki, Mr Amos Bazale , Mr. Mathusella Sebagala and Alex Tumwesigye.

Prayer requests:

Please pray for the church leaders who sign up for Romans Project program. Pray for the follow up as our stuff gets to call them as way of following them up. Pray also the these leaders will feel the urge to extend this ministry to their congregation in the same way with the book of Colossians.

UGANDA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY - MUKONO

We give glory to God again for the ministry of Proclaim-Africa that reaches out to the Youth especially to University students as you see in the photos.

On 8th June, Dr. Lazarus opened the leadership conference at Uganda Christian University and then closed it on 15th June. There were a couple of speakers and it was interesting hearing him preaching on leadership from a biblical perspective.

Romans Project - Masindi & Hoima Districts

We praise the Lord for Roman Project Conferences in both Masindi and Hoima districts. We see that the Spirit of the Lord is at hand and God Himself is touching and bringing His own to hear profound teachings. It is our great joy that God is restoring Revival/Reformation in Uganda and Africa.
Thanks people who prayed for these gatherings as you see we had lots of people.I was speaking on the topic of "how to use the Roman Project MP3 and purposes to why it is given to people. Simon was working on publicity and media" We had 140 in Masindi and 116 in Hoima. You would be amazed if you heard some attendees testimonies and their challenging theological questions. We praise the Lord for this work (Romans 11:36).

The Chosen Women For Africa Conference

"The Chosen Women For Africa Conference in Mukono district. This is a ministry in Proclaim-Africa that reaches out to ladies basically pastors' wives to equip them with the gospel and day-to-days life skills.

We were blessed to be part of it, helping here and there. There were many ladies who enrolled for In-deepth bible programmes. And we had many of them who had finished Colosians Challenge who graduated the day before the end of the conference".

ALEX - APRIL UPDATE

 

On Tuesday 15^th April, working alongside Alan- The Romans Project Coordinator for Uganda and Dr. Lazarus (Executive Director for Proclaim-Africa) we left for Masindi.  We were going to launch Romans Project in this town. When we reached there it reminded me when I and Simon first came there with Daniel and Renee when we were going to Murchison falls. It reminded those great moments J .

 

On 16^th our launch started off, this was mainly for church leaders. At the end of it all we had 97 all together as you see from the pictures. We were overwhelmed by the warm welcome which the people showed. They appreciated very much Proclaim-Africa’s objects towards God’s Word.     
Dr. Lazarus led the congregation in the devotion and commended them to be bible readers which would greatly change their preaching skills.

Most church leaders liked this and we had 87 who committed themselves to the reading the book of Romans 20 times. Our desire is that Christ glorified in the hearts of sinners and seeing the gospel permeating the continent of Africa and the whole World.

My observation:  One of the greatest things I noted is that the church in Uganda is still lacking preachers who have been trained in biblical sounding Theological institutions especially those that live in villages. Due to this, we find that we are lacking Christ-saturated preaching. It’s upon this that I and Simon are so thankful to God for having let us study Theology.     Thus most leaders appreciated Proclaim-Africa’s initiative to reach out to them.

 

On the same day, we headed off for Hoima district together with a couple which is the staff of Proclaim-Arica, we were meeting Romans Projecting members who had both completed and had not on the following day (17^th). We met 10 people and at least one of them had finished. Alan rewarded him with an MP3. This couple worked had to organize for these conferences.

 

Their testimonies were intriguing, even those who had not finished, they had a smile of the book of Romans. There were two bible interpreters who confessed that although they are too busy with work, they will fight hard to make sure that they finish their readings on time and celebrate with others. Their lives were blessed by reading Romans.

 

 

On the same day we left for Kampala. I was so thrilled to be in this mission and seeing how people are passionate for the word of God. We praise the Lord who brought all these people and their spiritual life did not remain the same.

SIMON - APRIL UPDATE

Bye bye summer hallo rainy season!!

 The trainings for Pastors in Kampala has always continued every Thursdays each week and the response has always been breath taking. There are great improvements in the Media department both on the Social Media, Website and others
 

It is always a proclaim-Africa norm when there is a conference all the department to work together, therefore some of my tasks has been put to hold so as to get the Letters delivered to churches around Kampala city, well in simple terms I have been the “Mail boy” but only not dressed in shorts.

It has been an Easter season and here in Africa, it is indeed a big deal for all the people both believers and non-believers. One of the gates to Easter here is buying new clothes, going to churches and eating and drinking sodas in big quantities. These big days always remind us of the past when it would be the time to drink a soda in the year. Here our church was not left behind; I was privileged to be part of the organizing team for the youth event at church on Easter Sunday that got many people spend their Easter Sunday evening at church, I preached from 1Cor 15:21-22.

Am currently compiling the Jesus film quarterly report and it is getting me overwhelmed on how the Jesus film shows can gather crows in a way one could not expect. It is not to get you exited but you can’t imagine that Jesus film show cause revival in churches here, well it has got me humbled as I compile these reports from different regions of Uganda indeed the hunger is huge for the gospel.

FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

It is now two month since we enrolled for this great task of serving the Lord in PROCLAIM-AFRICA as staff members. Doing God’s will is always joyful no matter how hard it might be because it is always God working through us. We are so thankful to the Lord for this call and every day we seek Him alone to be glorified in everything we do.

The month of February started with a new class of church leaders in Kampala suburb that both of us Alex and Simon have to teach weekly (Thursdays) for three hours. Simon is going through the Sonship For Africa and Alex is going through with them the Book of Acts and basing on the questions and responses they must be liking it. We were introduced to this class by one of the Proclaim-Africa staff members Mr. Methuselah who is in charge of the central region. 

 This group is a growing number of a bout ten members dominated by the male. We both get together in the resource center premises which were founded by the church called KAMPALA CHURCH OF CHRIST. This is situated like 5minuts drive from the city center.

We are also spear heading in the organization of the Quarterly organized event in the year called the MEN OF HONOR PRAYER BREAK FAST this is due to take place on the 8^th of March 2014. This is majorly an event for men in the church and majorly dominated by the church leaders from different denominations around Kampala. This is part of PROCLAIM-AFRICA ministries.

We are thankful to the Lord that we are getting used to the new area of residence, on the 22rd of this month were able to join the Young God Seekers (YGS) fellowship we are getting to know many people. This is not far from where we live as for now.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

• Please pray for the growth of Class members we teach in Kampala city.
• Pray for the success of Project YHU (ministry to the youth in High schools and Universities)
• Pray for the Men of Honor breakfast.
• Pray for the Roman Project and Colossian challenge follow-ups.

2014 PRAYER CARD

JANUARY MINISTRY

Busia:

Updates of January; we (Proclaim-Africa team) left for Eastern Uganda (Busia) to graduate those who had read the book of Romans 20 times. This is basically for Roman Project. However we had also some people who had finished Colossian Challenge, this involves reading the book of Colossian 10 times. We are so thankful that many people had finished and appreciated Proclaim-Africa for their great initiative in involving people to read and interact with the Word of God

We are grateful for the people who turned up. In Busia we had 41 people.  


Mbale district 24^th/Jan:

The following day we left for Mbala district. We had the attendance of 25 people. We are sorry we have no pictures for Busia and Mbale.

 Kisoro district 30^th/Jan:

 

On… we left for Kisoro together with Dr.Lazarus and Mr. Alan.  We caught with a couple Proclaim-Africa stuff members in Mbarara town. There was a great attendance, 24 people showed up. This is a mountainous region.  You can imagine people transporting themselves from district to the other. We had one man leave Kanungu district to Kisoro district where the conference was held. We are so thankful to the Lord who touches the souls of His people and make Himself know to them through these programs.

In the middle is Bishop Cranmer Mugisha of Muhabura diocese. He was very welcoming to our team and he promised that he would get involved in Roman Project and Colossian Challenge.

Above it Simon and Mr. Alan. Mr. Alan is the Co-coordinator of Roman Project in Uganda. Behinde them is River Kajere.         

Kampala district28th/Jan:

The above are the people who turned up in Kampala. We were amazed by the testimony that people shared after a long series of reading the book of Romans. We give glory and honor to our God for all the people who managed to come.

 

STARTING MINISTRY WITH PROCLAIM AFRICA, KAMPALA

Mid January 2014 Alex and Simon started work with Proclaim Africa, Kampala Uganda and here are some of the ministry opportunities they will be involved in.

ALEX REPORTS:-

We had a meeting as the staff of Proclaim-Africa from 15th-16^th January. We are happy that I will be walking In-depth Bible Programs (This means that i will be working alongside Mr. Alan, who basically deals with Roman Project and Colossian Challenge within Proclaim-Africa.

Then I will also be working in the central region ie. Kampala, with Methuselah Ssebagala one of the staff members. This involves equipping and training church members for church ministry.   This will also involve showing Jesus film (hopefully in the city suburb). Involve people especially university students in the Colossian challenge and Roman Project.  I will also be working at the office.

This is very interesting to me, I for thank God for this. For so long we have been praying for this (ministry). There is a lot of work to be done in the church in Uganda. We are praying that God will give us strength and financial support.

SIMON REPORTS:-

I have been assigned to work in the area of media this is to do with updating the website and the official face book page, I will also be assisting in extending the Roman project and Colossian challenge in high schools and Universities in the central region. I will be basing from the head office which is in Kampala.
I am so thank full to God for this opportunity.

Our New Home

We are in our new house, we came in early January.   We were so glad when Carolyn heard about our shifting to the new house, she said she would offer us with a ride. So, she came with some of our luggage, which eased our movement.

It is a nice place compared to where we have been living as you can see in the photos below. No mud!!       They are nice rooms.

Yaah, we stay with Eritreans, Ethiopians as well as Ugandans in these apartments. 

Gaba Road is kind of mixed, there lots of people from different countries almost all over the World. 

The house has 2 rooms, a kitchen, bathroom, with running water and electricity available. This new home is 10 minutes walk to Proclaim Africa Offices.
